ISUCON

ISUCON is a web performance competition. I competed in ISUCON13 and ISUCON14, wrote all the materials for a beginner workshop, and taught the course. I also gave a talk and organized an internal ISUCON event.

My contribution

Workshop author and instructor.

  • Planned and organized a beginner ISUCON workshop
  • Wrote all the workshop materials and taught the course
  • Gave an ISUCON lightning talk for traP
  • Hosted an internal ISUCON (PISCON)
  • Competed in ISUCON13 and 14 with the three-person team リアクティブ二子玉川~♪

From the basics to measuring and improving

I wrote a hands-on guide that takes beginners through ISUCON’s basics, connecting to a server, running the benchmark, and using measurement tools to analyse and improve performance. I also taught the workshop. The materials are public so people starting out in web development or infrastructure can use them too.

Competing, then sharing what I learned

Our three-person team, リアクティブ二子玉川~♪, placed 34th overall and 6th among student teams in ISUCON13 (2023). In ISUCON14 (2024), we placed 32nd overall and 5th among student teams. I also organized the beginner workshop, wrote all its materials, shared the teaching approach in a lightning talk, and hosted an internal ISUCON. The competition rankings are our team’s results.
